Things I've learned

Yes, I know - it's been awhile....life gets in the way.  Getting thru some stuff with my son, watching G move forward in his life, and watching his youngest on an emotional roller coaster of denial.  Really praying for that last item.

So along with my friend Jessica (Bessica) getting married (YEAH JESS!!), makes me think - what can I pass on that I have learned....tidbits of advice........here goes a few tasty tidbits.

1 - Don't burn bridges
People come in and out of our lives sometimes in a revolving door pattern - still, no matter what - kindness and being CORDIAL to all, regardless of slights, comments, issues you have - unless you are putting your morals and values at risk, just let it be and be nice.  You never know down the road, when you have to cross the bridge they own, rent or are responsible for.
2 - Cats WON'T be ignored.
MeMe(aka Mercedes) will reach out in FULL claw to patt you on the arm, head, leg -just to let you know - "DON'T you DARE walk by ME without worshiping"  Dave on the other hand - he will head butt you eventually if you don't pet him when HE wants.  Also, he will pee on whatever he feels to get your attention that 'my toilet is full - empty human!"  He's teaching Ginny the same thing - damn cats!!
3 - Ex's are just that.
Don't recycle cuz they are convenient - I hear my friends doing it and I roll my eyes - the same reason it didn't work the first time - same reason second......third......fourth....
4 - Marriage equates WORK
In a society that is focused on the here and RIGHT NOW, the idea of W-O-R-K is unheard of.  Yes, you are NOT going to get along.  Yes, you are going to have others who think what's yours should be THEIRS.  Yes, you DO need to make your partnership with that person you married a PRIORITY.  YES, communication is CRUCIAL to the success.  YES - intimacy is vital and needs to be treasured and protected and YES - MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT UNDER GOD!!!  Not a piece of paper.  You don't believe in GOD, you don't have a marriage (yes ppl, I know - but GOD has shown me - HE does MATTER in the success!!)
5 - That my Grandmother, Charlotte was really my dad's mom.  - long story - but I miss her so much!
6 - Duct tape ROCKS and should be a requirement to pass high school - along with financial responsibility and parental licensing.
7 - Forgiveness is a CHOICE.
8 - LOVE is a VERB.
9 - There are ALWAYS two sides to EVERY story.
10 - LET GO and LET GOD!

Thinking part 1 (first 10 things)

Since I am home sick, and the only thing that I can do is think, I scroll thru the blogs of friends, and acquantances to see what they blog about.

I liked reading Jeannette's 50 things she likes.  So that made me think, what are 50 things that I do like, don't like, can't live w/o, learned......

So here goes - images to ensue.
1 - Can't Live W/O -  GOD and our daily talks.
2 - Can't Live W/O - My son - Jake - tho we've been thru hell and back - he is still my son, and I love him UNCONDITIONALLY.  How many parents can say that with all we've gone thru?
3 - Can't Live W/O - Dave the Cat - he's currently 12 y/o.  :) KING Dave to all those who are below him.  LOL!

4 - Can't Live W/O - Parmesan - YUM!!!!
5 - Can't Live W/O - BOOKS!!!!
6 - Can't Live W/O - MUSIC - most kinds, but speed metal and twangy country, are all good.  :) Big on Chris Botti and some Phillips Craig and Dean currently.
7 - Can't Live W/O - GREAT friends - see multiple images below:
Joanie - like a sister to me!!

Then there is Sara (and Justin) who knows how I truly feel about my job and what I'd like to do with the job I have.  :) She is a GREAT friend and so knowledgeable, supportive and kind.  Don't let her smile fool you! (LOL)

And then there is GBean - aka Ginna .  LOL  Girl is my ying to my goofy yang.  Drives me bananas - but she knows it and I love her SPUNK!  Now giddy up and let's get a move on.

8 - Can't Live W/O - my blackberry - yes, I said it, my techno- smart phone.  Yes, I was resistant to having a celly back four years ago - but now my life is in this thing.  BAH!!  But I wouldn't have any other.  Have little issues w/and cannot WAIT for the BlackBerry Torch to come to Sprint!!
9 - Can't Live W/O - My feather pillows!! Yes, I am spoiled and thank you to the ex for buying me the most expensive one on sale three years ago.  IT IS MINE, MINE, MINE!!  :)

So I got thru the 10 things I can't live w/o.  Hmmmm.....I'm sure there is more, like a HOT shower every moring to make me a kind, considerate and humane being.  LOL! There is grilled PB sandwiches - gotta have them once in a while to calm my soul.  :)

Alrighty...so maybe next will be thing I've learned?

Jeffrey's pics

He deserves his own spot here, so here are SOME of his pics.

Here I am

Migraine killed my day.  Was looking forward to going into work, answering 60plus calls - not a big deal, just makes the day whizz by.

Today, I will mostly miss my "work husband".  He posted pics he'd taken over the last few weeks - OH MY GOSH - the man has such an eye and TALENT!!!  Will steal and post here for the viewing pleasure of whomever reads this.

Love my "work husband" - Jeffrey who sits next to me. We were "married" via a paint brush and by the assumption of Betsy Delzer - famous artist we both are inspired by.  Jeffrey's partner Scott and my honey, Greg, 87% approve of this union.  And if they don't, oh pooh to you.

Nothing more than taking an imatrex, sleeping from 6:40 am to 2 pm ish....woken occasionally by my neighbors "The Smokers" and the stench of their sticks as they sit on their front stoop smoking away.  REALLY!?  You won't smoke in YOUR home, but take little into account of your neighbors.  UGH!! Slamming the window to the stench still has NOT gotten the message across.

I am a FORMER smoker.  Rare if ever, will you find me with a stoggie in hand - will be a good, smooth smoke with a beer and camping involved.  A former smoker who cannot STAND the smell of cigarette smoke.  My mother, who smoked two and a half packs per day since age 15, was a "National Representative of Smoker's Rights" and died at the young age of 68 of emphysema.  I AM NOT a fan of those that choose to infect the air I breathe OUTSIDE.

So, for those of you who do smoke - I am sorry, but it's something I deem as a life ending addiction.  I am not going to condone nor advocate for your 'rights' to kill yourselves and surround me with the stench.

Done.  :)

Feeling a little bit of twinge in my neck...time for another imatrex?  Ick.
